Mark is the Co-Founder and General Partner of Annex Ventures. Mark has been investing in startup Life Science and Technology companies for over 20 years.
Mark is the Founder and CEO of Altamont Pharmaceutical Holdings, a biotech investment firm focusing on investments in undervalued small to mid-cap, publicly traded biotech companies, incubating startup companies, as well as partnering with large pharma companies.
Mark is the Co-Founder and Vice Chairman of the Board of Drawbridge Realty, a San Francisco based real estate development and investment company, which owns over 6 million square feet of commercial real estate leased to Technology and Life Science companies predominantly in the western United States. Drawbridge Realty's portfolio exceeds $2 billion in asset value. In December 2014, Drawbridge Realty formed a partnership with international asset management firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co, LP (“KKR”) which made a significant investment in the company to substantially grow the platform.
Mark was the Co-Founder, Managing Partner and Board member of CRESA Partners, a corporate real estate services firm, and was instrumental in building CRESA into a 57-office national company. In 2015, he sold his interest in CRESA to Savills plc, a $1.9 Billion international real estate firm with over 700 offices and 35,000 employees worldwide.
Mark is the Founder and CEO of Perceptive Real Estate Equities, Inc., a real estate development and investment company based in Dallas, TX with offices in Silicon Valley.
Mark is the Co-Founder, lead investor and serves on the Board of Directors of Cessation Therapeutics, Inc., a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company based in Dallas, Texas with research laboratories in San Diego, California.
Mark serves on the Board of Directors of The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California, a world-renowned biomedical research institute employing over 2,400 scientists and support staff. Scripps Research Institute has created 80+ spin-off biotech companies, 15 FDA approved drugs, and currently has 30 drugs in its pipeline.
Mark was the founding donor with a multimillion dollar gift establishing The Pearson Center for Addiction Research, which was founded in 2003 on The Scripps Research Institute campus in La Jolla, California by Mark Pearson, Dr. George Koob, Ph.D., and Dr. Barbara Mason, Ph.D.
Mark earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of San Francisco and a Masters degree in Management from Stanford University Graduate School of Business where he was a Sloan Fellow.
Ven N Reddy
GENERAL PARTNER
Ven is a General Partner at Annex Ventures where he has been involved in pioneering early stage to Series A technology companies for multiple decades. Ven brings an array of in-depth technology experience integrating platforms and continuously building investor relations to help manage the firm operations. He is certified in SAAS and Enterprise Software.
Ven began his career at Intel Corporation in the Technology & Manufacturing Group as a Programmer/Business Analyst where he learned many of the industries fundamental skills. He’s held various positions at Alliance Semiconductor including the Director of IT where he managed several key functions including IT, product support, and marketing for the video graphics chipset product line.
Ven is the CTO of SutiSoft. SutiSoft is one of the fastest growing SaaS providers in the industry focusing on enterprise solutions. He was the founder of XtraCool.com, a peer-to-peer network for Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes, Web, and Wireless users. He was also a co-founder of ArtInsider.com, an online retailer which was acquired in 2001.
Ven holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees from San Jose State University - B.S. in Information Systems with a minor in Economics; B.S. in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics.
